of small business.

Independently owned and operated and not dominant in operation is small business. Some chief characteristics of small business are-privately owned and operated small number of employees and relatively low volume of sales, not dominant in their field of operations. Small businesses are normally privately owned corporations, partnerships, or sole proprietorships. The definition of small business varies by country.
In America less than 100 employees and under 50 employees in the European Union and less than 15 employees in Australia. By comparison, a medium sized business or mid-sized business has less than 500 employees in the US, 250 in the European Union and less than 200 in Australia.


There is no limit of the types of small business. Typical examples include: small shops (such as a grocery, bakery and hairdressers), departmental store, tradesmen, restaurants, guest houses, photographers, small-scale manufacturing, collective-farming, electronic commodity selling, servicing etc.

One survey of small business owners showed that 38% of those who left their jobs at other companies said their main reason for leaving was that they wanted to be their own bosses, Freedom to operate independently is a reward for small business owners. In addition, many people desire to make their own decisions, take their own risks, and reap the rewards of their efforts. Small business owners have the satisfaction of making their own decisions within the constraints imposed by economic and other environmental factors. However, entrepreneurs have to work very long hours and understand that ultimately their customers are their bosses.

In Asia, especially among the developing countries small business has some different significance. It is effective to remove poverty and unemployment. In 3rd world small business is the key of freedom of the suffering people. There are many charities organization, NGO’s and government is working together to support their small business. It is proved that small business has the capability of change. Bangladesh is the model of this kind of change. In there with the help of BRAC and Grameen Bank (two renowned organization) people has made the change of life.
The advantage of small business one can takes very easily. It is not a matter which country you live in. The government and many other non government organization is always ready to give you loan.
